Email Archiving Without Limitations

The functional range of n2pdf extends from a compact but convenient client-side out-of-the-box solution to dynamic server-side email archiving. n2pdf also shows its strengths in terms of content: complex Notes content and attachments, as well as PDF/A and signatures, are part of the standard feature set.

With version 5.0, the processing of HTML content (MIME content) was expanded further. MIME content is typically found in emails received via the internet. In such documents, the content is often stored as HTML code within MIME structures. Because n2pdf does not work directly with HTML content but with stored rich text content, MIME content must first be converted.

In the past, this often required opening and saving the Notes document in the Notes client so that Notes could convert the HTML content into rich text. If that step was skipped, the PDF output could be rendered inconsistently. n2pdf therefore provides several automatic ways to convert HTML into rich text, so the document no longer has to be pre-converted through the Notes client.

You can use options to control how the content should be converted. This includes, for example, defining the file name or deciding whether external content such as newsletter resources should be loaded. For deeper technical details, the documentation refers to the section on MIME content.
