KRÄUTER-MIX: It's the new mix that matters
KRÄUTER MIX is an entrepreneur-led German industrial supplier with about 240 employees and was founded in 1919. The company is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001/IFS (Higher Level) - among other certifications - and specialized in manufacturing renewable raw materials for the food, the fruit and herbal tea as well as the pharmaceutical industry. Apart from that KRÄUTER MIX has acquired an excellent reputation as an outsourcing partner in the last years and also offers services in the area of subcontracting.
The company with over 90 years of successful corporate history offers its customers a comprehensive product portfolio of dehydrated vegetables, culinary herbs, fruit and herbal infusions, as well as medicinal herbs in different types of processing, conventional or organic. The necessary, renewable and air-dried products are sourced from more than 70 countries worldwide and reprocessed - the products of the company are delivered to almost the same number of countries. The export share clearly exceeds 50 %, over half of which for non-EU countries.
The core competence of KRÄUTER MIX is based on the production of customer-specific products with high safety standards. The many years of experience in the different manufacturing processes, the technical capacities, the qualified staff, as well as the cooperation with international business partners are the basis for the company's efficiency.
In 2009 - right on time for the 90th birthday of KRÄUTER MIX - the company's meanwhile outdated B2B Portal was replaced and implemented on a completely new platform. Due to the long and successful cooperation, KRÄUTER MIX again relied on SoftVision as the competent partner for the realization of the new portal. The new information system for customers e. g. provides current data on the test results of batches, or the status of current contracts. The previous system, which was also developed together with SoftVision, had so far been maintained and further developed by the KRÄUTER MIX IT. Therefore one of the main goals of the new project was to reduce the burden on the resources of the internal IT. Further goals were to increase the performance, to modernize the design and to develop a development platform based on the latest standards, in order to simplify the maintenance and the continuous expansion of the portal.
All that was realized with the new portal based on the content management system TYPO3. The system was customized with different extensions - tailored to the individual requirements of the customers - and, in addition, connected to the CRM system NAVISION via defined interfaces. Thanks to the know-how and many years of experience in TYPO3, E-Commerce and E-Business, SoftVision was able to implement the application for KRÄUTER MIX successfully and to take over the complete maintenance of the system.
